Sabine Carey and Cosima Meyer participated at the 115th American Political Science Association’s (APSA) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., from August 29th – September 1st, 2019.

Sabine Carey presented the paper “Shades of Peace: Perceptions of Security in Sri Lanka” (co-authored with Christian Gläßel and Belén González) in the panel The Impact of Civil War Settlements on Citizens’ Attitudes and Agency, and the paper “How media freedom affects the escalation of state violence“ (co-authored with Bélen González and Neil J. Mitchell) in the panel State Repression and Human Rights II. She further acted as a chair in this panel.

As co-editor of the American Political Science Review Sabine Carey was also attending the APSR Board Meeting.

Cosima Meyer presented her research on “Surviving the Aftermath – Understanding How Military and Political Experience Affect Post‐War Political Leadership Survival” in the panel Rebel Leaders.
