At the ECPR Summer School of Methods and Techniques taken place in Ljubljana the third prize of the ECPR Dirk Berg-Schlosser Award 2012 was attributed to Stefanie Walter for her poster presentation of her dissertation project about the visibility of citizens in the European public on which she is working as a student of the CDSS. Warm congratulations of the whole Chair to the laureate!

After having hold the junior professorship of Political Science with focus on voter behaviour since 2009, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Faas leaves our chair much to our regret on 1 September. He follows a call of the University of Mainz where he will occupy the professorship for Methods of Empirical Political Research. We wish him all the very best for his future!

The Bojanovsky Prize (fur further information please look here) launched for the first time was awarded to Dipl.-Soz.Wiss. Sascha Huber for his dissertation “Strukturen des politischen Kontexts und die demokratische Kompetenz der Wähler. Experimentelle Studien zur Urteils- und Entscheidungsbildung” (Structures of political context and democratic competence of the voters. Experimental studies concerning the judgment formation and decision making). The Foundation Council of the Prof. Dr. Anna- und Prof. Dr. Jörg Jiri Bojanovsky-Stiftung appreciated the dissertation as the best work of a young scientific talent at the University of Mannheim in 2012. The dissertation will be published by Nomos-Verlag in July 2012. The whole team of the Chair extends warm congratulations to the prize winner!
